Ada Lee McKnight was born July 7, 1929 in Crockett, Texas to the proud parents of the late Hugh and Josephine Parker.
She attended Crockett Public School in Crockett, Texas.
Ada accepted Jesus Christ into her life at an early age. She joined Northside C.O.G.I.C. Where she was a faithful member of the choir.
Ada was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, the late James McKnight. To this union, they were blessed with eleven children. Ada and James were married for over 68 years.
Left to cherish her memroies; (10) children, Rose Hall of Houston, TX, John McKnight (Margaret) of Crockett, TX, Joanne Ware (James) of Crockett, TX, Hilliard McKnight (Ruth( of Crockett, TX, Delbrert McKnight of Crockett, TX, William McKnight (Iretha) of Houston, TX, Rosie Spivey (Norris) of Huntsville, TX, Mary Lavan (John) of Houston, TX, Josie McKnight Joubert of Houston, TX, Dianne Byrd (Tommy) of Crockett, TX, O'Linda McKnight- Daughter-in-law of Houston, TX; 39 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren; one aunt, Bernadine Perry of Texas City, TX; two uncles, Johnny Lemell of California, Tilda Lemell of New York; one sister-in-law, Izy Lee Baker of LaPorte, TX; four brothers-in-law, Bishop John L. McKnight of Crockett, TX, Essau McKnight of Houston, TX, Leroy McKnight of Crockett, TX; three God Children, Rev. Laverne Gambrell (Caroline) of Huntsville, TX, Bennie Ray O'Neil (Betty) of Crockett, TX and Richard Cole of Houston, TX and a host of nieces, nephews. Special Relative, Wallace Parker and Special Friend, Sister Georgia Mae Rhodes. On February 18, 2014 in Crockett, Texas, Ada left this earth on the Wings of Angels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Josephine Parker; her husband, James McKnight; son, James (Bone) McKnight; two sisters, Mary Lemell Kinney and Annie B. Willaims; brother, William Parker, Sr.; Five sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; grandson, James (Jamie) Ware; son-in-law, Leon Hall, Sr.
Not only was she a loving and caring wife and mother to her children, she also opened her home and heart to anyone in need of love, compassion and support.
