Barbara Ann Strange Jones was born on November 8, 1964 to Jodie Lee and Elizabeth (Ward) Strange in Dallas, Texas.  She was the last of eleven children.

She was raised in Crockett, Texas and attended schools in Crockett ISD.

She accepted Christ early in life and united with Progressive Baptist Church.  She was a life member.

Barbara married David Earl Jones May 10, 1991. This union was blessed with seven children.

She went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2017 in Crockett, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jodie and Elizabeth (Ward) Strange; four brothers, Lawrence Strange, Jodie Strange, Robert Earl Strange and Ezeil Strange.

She leaves to cherish her memories most are husband, David Earl Jones, Crockett, Texas; two sons, David Strange, Crockett, Texas, Demetria "Demetrius" Jones, Palestine, Texas; five daughters, Ashliey Strange-Dickson (Damon), Crockett, Texas, Shareka Strange, Palestine, Texas, Sherminn Strange, Crockett, Texas, Valarie Strange, Palestine, Texas, and Dominique Jones, Palestine, Texas; four brothers, Dennis (Marilyn) Strange, Crockett, Texas, Joe Strange,  Crockett, Texas, Frank Strange, Oakland, Texas and James (Laverne) Strange, Crockett, Texas; two sisters, Roberta Patterson, Houston, Texas and Dianna Dickerson, Crockett, Texas; sister-in-law, Lucy Strange; mother-in-law, Johnnie Mae Jones; 13 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
