On August 8, 1932 , Mr. Eddie Reed, Sr. and Mrs. Cora Beatrice Micheaux-Reed, became the proud parents of a precious baby girl they named Christine.
She received her education at Mt. Moriah School and was a graduate of Henry High.
Christine, under the stern and loving hand of her mother was a diligent member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Upon graduation, Christine moved to Houston, Texas. She joined Yellowstone Missionary Baptist Church in Houston and was a faithful and devoted member, until 1980 when she moved back to Palestine. She reunited with Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and lovingly served as Superintendent, Sunday School teacher, Deaconess, BTU secretary, and Mission member.
Christine married three times, and was a very loving wife. Although she never had any biological children, she became a mother figure to many.
On April 20, 2016 , the Angel of Silence called her by name, relieving her of all pain and suffering. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Haney; parents, Eddie Reed, Sr. and Cora Beatrice Micheaux-Reed; sisters, Cleatrice Bass, Laura Williams, and Rachel Johnson; two brothers, Joseph Reed and Leonard Reed, Sr.; Her special nephew, Clemmie George (Brock) Hightower.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one brother, Eddie Reed, Jr.; three sisters, Fostine Dorsey, Maurine Williams, and Joanne (James) Latham. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
