Biographical Sketch for Daisy Jean Muse-White

Daisy Jean Muse-White was born in Palestine, Texas on March 30, 1949 to the proud parents Caretha and Leander Muse who preceded her in death.  Daisy was the last of nine children and was affectionately called "our baby sister" by her siblings well past her 60th birthday.

Daisy accepted Christ in her life at an early age and attended church regularly with her parents and nine siblings at Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church where she served as a stewardess, choir member, YPD and class leader.

She attended Banks Elementary School, Lincoln Junior High School, and was a member of the last class to graduate from A.M. Story High School in 1967.  She was one of the most popular girls at A.M. Story High where she attended with her high school sweetheart and the future love of her life, Leroy White Jr.  After high school she attended Henderson County Junior College as an Art major before relocating to Houston, Texas.

In 1968, she and Leroy married and moved to Houston, Texas.  God blessed their union for 46 years with many individual and joint accomplishments.  God blessed her with a nurturing spirit and for much of her career she spent her time caring for others.  For several years she worked as an assistant nurse at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston and also did contract work as an in-home health care worker.  She later became an entrepreneur opening her own in-home day care center caring for and helping to raise numerous children for family, friends, and neighbors.

She also continued her service to the Lord while in Houston transferring her membership to Windsor Village United Methodist Church and later to the Community of Love where she was the choir leader, and communion stewardess.

Daisy believed one of her highest callings was her position as Mom. From Daisy and Leroy's beautiful union came three children: Tammy Yolanda White-Chaffer, Tonya Yvette Watts, and Traci Yvonne White-Jones. "The girls" were always Daisy's top priority. That is until the grandchildren began to arrive. Daisy joyfully embraced the role of grandmother to her six grandchildren: Brittany Madkins, Jordan Chaffer, Taylor White, Kelsey Madkins, Jamie Chaffer and William (DJ) Jones. She worked tirelessly in the care of her husband, her children and her grandchildren creating a warm, loving home.

Eternal rest came to Daisy, after a three year battle with cancer.  On Thursday, October 23, 2014, Daisy slipped into a peaceful rest surrounded by her loved ones. She is now resting in peace with her parents, Leander and Caretha Muse, Sr.; Brothers, Charles Muse and Leander Muse, Jr.; Parent-in-laws, Ozella and Leroy White, Sr.; Brothers-in-law, Bennie Brown, Henry Jones, Gwendell White; sister-in-law, Linnie Muse, Helen Gibson.

Daisy will be missed by her loving husband, Leroy White, Jr.; Three devoted daughters, Tammy White-Chaffer, Mo. City, Tonya (Michael) Watts, Katy, Texas, Traci White-Jones, Mo. City; two brothers, Robert Muse, Clarence (Barbara) Muse, Dallas, Texas; four sisters, Doris Brown, Fort Worth, Lucretia Jones, Denton, Fannie (Alexander) Davis, Fort Worth, Jenell (Phinis) Hollie, Fort Worth; two brothers-in-law, Joe M.
