Doris Marie (Whitfield) Glover was born on June 5, 1933 in Nineveh, Texas to Mark and Fannie Mae (Stell) Whitfield. She was born the sixth of eleven children. She accepted Christ at an early age and her life reflected Christ's presence in her. She reminded others fervently of the necessity of accepting Christ in their lives and living a life that is pleasing to God. She was a very loving, giving, caring, and forgiving person. She attended Mt Carmel Missionary Baptist for over sixty (60) years, where she served as a Vacation Bible School teacher, and on the Usher Board, having previously served as President of the Usher Board.

She graduated from Dunbar High School in Oakwood, TX where she returned for her first teaching experience. She attended Prairie View A & M University from 1951 to 1955 where she acquired her Bachelor of Science in Education. She acquired her Master of Science in Education from Prairie View A & M University in 1975. She taught in Milford and Royse City, prior to engaging in a career both as a substitute and permanent teacher in the Dallas Independent School District. She taught fifth grade math at John Neely Bryan for twenty-six (26) years, resulting in her serving more thirty-two (32) years as an educator.

She married Marion Governor McIntosh, Jr. and to this union two children, Marilyn Darlene and Tijuana Maria were born. This union also included two sons, Paul and Glenn. She later married Vean Glover and wholeheartedly welcomed the blending of two families, uniting as one.

Preceding her in death, are her parents, Fannie and Mark Whitfield, ten siblings (Robert, Richard, Dorothy, Clifton, Roosevelt, Wyrine, Elsie, Elease, Mark, Jr, and Sandra), two sons, Paul & Glenn McIntosh, one daughter, Imogen Smith, one daughter-in-law, Lillian Renee Glover, and one grandson, Charlay Glover. On Saturday, September 1, 2018, she responded to God's call after, just days earlier, verbally exclaiming, "God told me, "I'm passing!"

She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughters, Marilyn Darlene Lockhart and Tijuana Cornell (Anthony); one granddaughter, Shanita Holden; three grandsons, Larry Lockhart, Jr. (Tomea), Marcus Lockhart (Veronica), and Micah Lockhart (Aerial); and three great granddaughters, Shanitrick Jones, Lexi Coleman, and McKinley Lockhart.

Cherishing her memories also, is her blended family which is comprised of three daughters, Roslyn "Val" Eldridge, Marva Crawford, and Knakita Glover; and three sons, Terry Smith (Carlon), Charlie Glover, and Oscar Smith; along with 19 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, and 31 great great grandchildren.
