Dorothy's Life Journey

On the glorious day of March 15, 1940 in Crockett, Texas Chester and Georgia Wagner-Jolley and DA Hawkins welcomed an angelic baby girl into the world whom they name "Dorothy".

Dorothy whom everyone affectionately called "Sister" was raised in the Halls Bluff Community in Crockett, Texas.  She graduated from Ralph Bunche High School in 1959.  She later attended Hicks Beauty College in Austin, Texas.

Dorothy was self-employed as a beauty salon owner and operator, and a Licensed Instructor.

She received Christ at an early age.  She was a dedicated and lifelong member of Williams Chapel Church of Living God, PGT where she worked faithfully as President of Mission, Ushers Board, and Food auxiliaries and a member of the choir.  Dorothy was known as a beautiful songstress.

On the blissful day of June 16, 1962, Dorothy united in holy matrimony to the love her life, John H. Johnson. To this union 4 beautiful children were born.

Dorothy's greatest pleasure and passion was being in the kitchen preparing every meal sprinkled with love, baked with patience and served with hospitality.

On October 8, 2015, Dorothy answered the call of the angel of silence and transition from labor to reward.  She is preceded in death by her parents: Chester Jolley, Georgia Wagner Jolley, and DA Hawkins; Sisters: Nazarine Ringer, Mary Spence; 2 Brothers: Howard Hawkins and Tano K. Shaa (Billy Hawkins) and Son: Damon Ray Johnson.
