DOROTHY LAVERNE SIMON-LOVELADY age 73, passed away on September 11, 2018 at the Crockett Medical Center, Crockett, Texas. Dorothy was married to Rev. Henry Rutherford Lovelady, Sr for 53 years.

Dorothy Laverne Simon Lovelady was born May 7, 1945 in Houston County, Texas to George and Rebecca (Duncan) Simon. She was the ninth of 11 children.
She was raised in Crockett, Texas and graduated from Ralph Bunche High School with the Class of 1963.
She accepted Christ early in life and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Dorothy married Henry Rutherford Lovelady, Sr. on March 25, 1966. This union was blessed with three children. They shared 52 years together.
She worked for Crockett State School for over 20 years.
Dorothy was called to rest on September 11, 2018 in Crockett, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Rebecca Simon; son, Daniel Lovelady; four brothers, John L. Simon, Frank Simon, George Simon, Jr., Viell Simon; two sisters, Freddie Simon and Vnora Simon; in-laws, Tony and Vivian Lovelady.
Loving survivors: loving husband, Rev. Henry R. Lovelady, Sr., Crockett, Texas; son, Henry Lovelady, Jr., Crockett, Texas; daughter, April Lovelady, College Station, Texas; two brothers, Roy Simon and M.C. (Doris) Simon, both of Crockett, Texas; two sisters, Alice Simon and Faye (Larry) McCullough, both of Crockett, Texas; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
