Dorothy Lee Jones was born on August 4, 1938 in Houston County to Cleocy and Callie (Baker) Taylor. She was their fifth child.
She was raised in the Ash Community and attended Ralph Bunche School.
Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age and united with Ash Baptist Church, she rededicated her life to Christ on April 18, 2018 at Eastgate Family Church.
She married George Henry Jones on February 5, 1969. This union was blessed with two children.
On October 19, 2018 in Houston County, Dorothy left this earth on the Wings of Angels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleocy and Callie Tayler; husband, George Henry Jones; three brothers, Joe Taylor, Roy Taylor, Leo Taylor; sister, Fannie Johnson.
Loving survivors: son, River Woodard, Houston, Texas; two daughters, Carolyn Owens (Raymond), Crockett, Texas, Carla Jones (Isaac), Austonio, Texas; six grandchildren, Gregory Jones, Decoffet Jones (Charles), Christina Whitting, Sekia Davis, Isaac Jones (LaMonica), Westin Jones (Martisha); three sisters, Daisy Moffett, Ruth Hackett, Ethel Sherman (Otis); in-laws, Naomie Taylor, Amanda Taylor, Perry Cole, Plez Brooks, Tom Carey; 23 great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
