Daniel Clerkley was born on May 13, 1938 in Neches, Texas to Gable and Alma Coleman Clerkley . He was the fourth child born to this union.
Daniel was raised in Neches, Texas and attended Fred Douglas School in the Old Town area.
Daniel accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Greater Brown Spring Baptist Church and later rejoined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
Daniel married Mary Louise Smith, the love of his life, on June 2, 1958. This union lasted 60 years. This union was blessed with 14 children.
On April 17, 2018 at Palestine Regional Medical Center, he left this earth on the Wings of Angels. He was preceded in death by his parents: Gable and Alma Clerkley; Five Sons: Kenneth, Malcolm, Bobby, John and Fredrick Clerkley; One Daughter: Elizabeth Clerkley; Two Sisters: Barbara Lewis and Ola Clayton; Eight Brothers: Manuel, Thurman, Willie, Eddie, Alvin, Kenneth, Othell and Calvin Clerkley.
Daniel left to cherish his memories: His Loving Wife: Mary Louise Clerkley, Sons: Daniel, Jr. (Vynetta) Clerkley, Gerald Clerkley, Rodwick (Rochelle) Clerkley and David (Dianna) Cerkley; Daughters: Elaine (Larry) Peterson, Patricia Clerkley, Audrey Clerkley and Carolyn (Lenard) Calhoun; Aunt: Praise Coleman; Uncle: Ezell Coleman; Sisters: Shirley (Henry) Ford, Bertha Jones; Brother: Herman (Shirley) Clerkley; Special Friends: Paul Calhoun, The Williams Family, Clyde Combs, Richard and Linda Gardner, Elliott and Cindy Barron; Thirty-three grandchildren; Forty-one great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
