Eglon Ellis
(Aunt Daught)
Eglon Ellis was born on March 12, 1919 in Pennington, Texas to Sam and Leona (Woods) Scurlock, Sr. She was the seventh of 12 children.
Eglon was raised in Pennington, Texas and attended public school in the Lake Creek Community.
She accepted Christ early in life and was a active member at Clegg Chapel Baptist Church, where she served as an usher and cook until poor health caused her to stop.
Eglon worked many years as a dedicated worker for Sam Houston State University and Trinity Public Schools, where she retired.
Eglon's journey ended on October 1, 2016 in Trinity, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Leona Scurlock, Sr.; siblings, Texanna Randolph, Etta Littles, Serdalia Corn, John Alfred Scurlock, N.L. Scurlock, Smitie Scurlock, Vandy Williams, Annie Bell Allen, Leona Horace, fannie Jean Collins, S.T. Bogany, Sam Scurlock, Jr. (Sonny Boy).
Loving survivors: son, Tonnie Allen; daughter, Tammie Allen. All of her family was special to her. She will be dearly missed.
