Elease Whitfield Lewis was born on January 22, 1942 in Oakwood, Texas to Mark and Fannie Mae Whitfeld.
Elease attended New Hope Baptist Church as a child. When she settled in Houston, she continued her walk with God at Mangum Oaks Baptist Church. Her most recent church home was Living Word Fellowship Church.
Elease loved education and was blessed to attend Prairie View A&M University where she received both her Bachelor's and Master's of Education. She retired as a counselor after many years of helping many students to realize their greatest potentials.
One of the absolute lights of her life was her son, Mark Jamerson Lewis. Mark was born on December 11, 1973 to Carl and Elease Lewis. One of God's greatest gifts to us is a mother's love. She shared love and patience, a forgiveness and understanding of Mark that could only come from God from his first day until her last day.
On April 25, 2018 At 4:45 A.M., Elease's spirit returned to a loving God.
Elease was preceded in death by her parents: Mark and Fannie Whitfield; Brothers: Robert, Richard, Roosevelt, Clifton and Mark; Sisters: Dorothy, Sandra and Wyrine.
Elease leaves to cherish her memories; Son: Mark; Sisters: Doris and Elsie and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
