REFLECTION OF LIFE FOR FRANK VANBUREN JONES

On September 10, 1927, Frank Vanburen Jones was born the oldest son of twelve children to Kenchion and Waylonia Jones.  He grew up in Oakwood, Texas and attended school in Trahim and Shiloh.

On March 3, 1950, Frank married the former Vernon Lee Titus at the home of the late Reverend Leslie McIlveen.  They remained married for eighteen years until her demise in 1968.  Of this union, eight children were born - three sons and five daughters.

Frank believed in the Lord Jesus Christ early in his life and attended Jones Memorial United Methodist Church in Houston with his wife and family.

Frank served in the United States Army for several years.  He lived in Houston, Texas most of his adult life.  Frank chose truck driving and chaffeuring  as his field of work for many years.  Upon his retirement to Oakwood, he served as groundskeeper for several years at Brown Chapel Cemetery.

Life afforded him to experience seven generations of family as a son, grandson, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, cousin and uncle.  We love him and he will be missed dearly.

Frank parted this life on the morning of Januar 14, 2015 to take rest until the Lord's return.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, one half-sister, one daughter, two sons, and one grandson.

He leaves to celebrate his life:  four sisters, Fedalma Celes, Wilelmer and Darlene; four brothers: Hurelee, Eugene, Alvin and Kenchion; one son, Graylon (Patty); three daughters: Doris (Keith), Dean (Jerald), Gale and Sabrina; sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
