Fred Lee Jones, Jr. was born on July 26, 1939 in Houston County, Grapeland, Texas to Fred Lee Jones, Sr. and Kattie Mae Lott Jones. He was the first child and oldest brother of 12 children.

Fred was raised in Grapeland, Texas and attended W.R. Banks School in Grapeland, Texas.

He accepted Christ early in life and was a faithful member and Kitchen Ministry Chef for West Union Baptist Church.

He later became a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Palestine, until his health failed.

Fred married Donna L. Brown on February 13, 1992, they were blessed with four daughters.

Fred worked for AAA Restaurant, Schmidt Farms and Neele Laker Farms for over 30 years. He then went on to be self employed, cutting wood for various customers in the Elkhart and Palestine areas, he was one of the Best Barbecue Chefs for the Anderson County Area.

On October 3, 2017 at Palestine Regional Medical Center, Fred's hard working hands were called to rest. He was preceded in death mother, Kattie Mae Jones; two sisters, Maribeth Anglin and Mattie Jackson and one brother, Randy Jones; in-laws, Barbara and Eugene Brown.

Jones, Grapeland, Texas; four daughters, Sherell Chivers (Will), Shaunessy Jones, Shaifea Jones, of Elkhart, Texas, Bonita Thompson (Michel), Tennessee Colony, Texas; father, Fred Lee Jones, Sr. (Eva), California; four brothers, Sammie Jones (Delois), Texas, Reginald Jones (Carolyn), Terrell Jones (Traci) all of Grapeland, Texas; George Edward (Bobbie), Lufkin, Texas; four sisters, Eloise Harvey (Roy, Gloria Shepard, both of Grapeland, Texas, Karen Mahone (Johnny), Huntsville, Texas and Margie Nathaniel; six grandchildren, Chris, Faron, Kendrick, Ja'Darren, Michel and Iiesha; 12 great grandchildren; special aunt, Nellie Lott of Grapeland, Texas, a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
