Gila Marie Jones was born on April 1, 1960 in Crockett, Texas to Floyd and Nettie B. (Robinson) Jones. She was the seventh of 11 children born to this union.

Gila was raised in Crockett, Texas and attended Crockett Schools, graduating with the class of 1977.

She accepted Christ early in life and united with Hampton Memorial. She later joined St. Luke Baptist Church.

On August 12, 2017, Gila left this earth on the Wings of Angels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Nettie Jones; siblings, James Jones, Clyde Jones, Jesse Jones, Paulette Jones and Shirley Peterson; great nephew, Jayceun Hickman.
