Gloria Fletcher Jones, age 61, of Waco, Texas formerly of Crockett, Texas died Tuesday July 22, 2014 in Conroe Regional Medical Center, Conroe, Texas
Service: Saturday July 26, 2014 at 1:00 pm

Praise and Thanksgiving for the life of Gloria Ann Fletcher Jones
Gloria was born in Crockett Texas March 13, 1953 to Melvin Delores Smith-Fletcher and Aaron (Red) Fletcher. She was the youngest of four siblings.
Gloria graduated from Ralph J. Bunch High School in Crockett, Texas. To further her education she moved to Waco, Texas and attended Paul Quinn College. She received her Bachelors degree in Education.
While in college she also formed a relationship with Oliver Jones Jr. which blossomed into a beautiful marriage. The two of them had one son, Oliver Jones III, which they loved dearly.
Gloria was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Waco, Texas.
She always knew her calling in life was to help others , so she began teaching at TSTI in Waco, Texas. In 1985, she decided to become an elementary school teacher and was employed by Sul Ross Elementary School in WISD. After many years of service she decided to retire in 2006.
Gloria touched the lives of many people especially children. She was known for her out spoken, humorous and kind hearted personality. If you are ever feeling down, close your eyes and think of at time when Gloria made you laugh because I'm sure we have all shared one of these special moments with her.
Gloria passed away July 22, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents: Melvin Delores Smith-Fletcher and Aaron (Red) Fletcher, sisters: Linda Jean Fletcher Carter- Fennell and Ella Pearl Barrs, brother: Marion Fletcher.
Gloria is survived by her son Oliver Julius Jones III, of Waco, Tx: brother, Rev. John Jones of Houston, Tx: niece, Felicia Barrs, of Desoto, Tx: niece, Shametra Carter- Fair, of Atlanta, GA: great niece, Chastadie Barrs- Smith and great nephew, Brason Barrs- Richardson.
