Jerry Hill was born on May 14, 1932 in Yard, Texas to the parentage of the late Levi and Rural Mims Hill.  He was the tenth of eleven children. Three brothers, R.T., Genola, and Jim Ed; and four sisters, Everlena, Alma, Elsie, and Ethel preceded him in death.

He attended school in Yard, Texas, and united with the Friendship Baptist Church there at an early age.  He was married to Annie Mae Taylor for 15 years and they had four children together.  His son, Marlon "Chuck" Hill, preceded him in death.  He was later married Gussie Mae Jackson until her death.

Jerry worked at Friendly Chevrolet for 32 years and at Regency Buick until he retired in 1994.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Jerry "Don" Hill of Dallas Texas, Gina Hill of Lancaster Texas, Gregory (Debra) Hill of Desoto, Texas; Annie Mae Rivers (an exceptional and special friend); four grandchildren: Natasha, Gregory, Jarrod, and Dontae; and one great-grandson, Dontae Jr.; one sister, Elzena Nolley of  LaMargue Texas, and two brothers, Levi Hill, Jr., of Dallas Texas, Earl Hill of Wichita Falls Texas; brother-in-laws, Vernon Coleman and Curtis Williams, and a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
