Mr. Jerry Jene Simpson, Sr., age 64, of California, died Sunday March 8, 2015 in California.

Saturday, March 28, 2015 @ 11:00 am in Magnolia Cemetery, Tucker, Texas
Interment following service in Magnolia Cemetery.

Obituary
Jerry Jene Simpson, Sr. was born in Palestine, Texas on May 7, 1950 to his parents, Jerry and Teresa Simpson.
At the age of four, Jerry came to California with his mother. He attended John Muir Junior High School in San Francisco, California and graduated from Sunset High School in Hayward, California.
He accepted his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and was baptized by Bishop Charlie Davis of New Testament Pentacostal Chucrh of Fresno, California.
Jerry later met and married Janice (Horner) Simpson in Hayward, California on June 4, 1974. From this union came one daughter, June Louise Simpson and one son, Jerry Gene Simpson, Jr.. In 1989 the family relocated to Modesto, California. Although Jerry and Janice separated in 1993, they have always remained close friends.
Jerry will be remembered as a hard-working man that took pride in what he did and was very proud of his shoeshine business. He had many write ups in the paper for his excellent work at Red Carpet in Fremont, California where he continued his shoeshine business till retiring.
He had a great love for his dog (Boxer) Butch till the end. Jerry and Butch had many adventures together. He enjoyed listening to the Temptations. He made friends easily, traveled extensively and one of his memorable adventures was his attendance to "Woodstock" in concert in Bethel, New York in 1969. Jerry was a loving, loud, boisterous and extremely funnyman. He had a heart of gold and an unconditional love for all his family.
In 2004, Jerry was blessed to have a loving and endearing relationship for more than ten years with his partner, Elene Rodriguez.
Jerry departed this life on March 8, 2015 surrounded by his family. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends but we are happy that he is at peace with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his grand parents, Ophelia and Sam Murray, his father, Jerry Simpson; Grandson, Markell Wilson; aunt, Edna Johnson; uncle, Rawley Murray; sister, Tanya Temporl; step-father, Constancio Temporal, Sr.; Significant other, Elene Rodriguez.
Jerry leaves to mourn his passing: mother, Teresa "Mudea" Temporal; children: June L. Simpson and Jerry G. Simpson, Jr.; Grandchildren: Shay, jae'Lynn, Kai and Hailey; Aunts: Kate (Charlie) Davis, Shirley Crisp and Sharon Irvin; brothers: Samuel (Mary) Simpson, Amado (Beverly) Temporal, Constancio (Pam) temporal, Narcisco (Lethea) Temporal; sisters: Linda Temporal and Elizabeth Temporal-Del Sol.
