Jesse Bacon was born on June 11, 1945 in Riverside, Texas to Leo and Mattie (Miller) Bacon. He was the ninth of ten children.

Jesse accepted Christ early in life and joined Riverside Church of Christ.

He was raised in Riverside, Texas and attended Phillis Wheatley and Riverside Public school.

Jesse worked as a Core Setter, and Quality Steel in Lufkin, Texas, where he retired.

In his later years he married Gwendolyn J. McGowan.

Mr. Jesse Bacon passed away on January 29, 2016 at his home in Riverside, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy Allen, Judy Massie, Alene Davis, Alice Lee; brothers, Harvey Bacon, Charlie Bacon, Ollie Bacon and Jimmy Bacon.

He leaves behind his wife, Gwendolyn Bacon; his children, Darrell Bacon, Gwendolyn Bacon-Jenkins, Kimberly Bacon, Carla Johnson, Jessie Bacon, Angie Kay Bacon, Vette Glover, Eric Glover, Larry Johnson, De'acraues Johnson, Shaun Johnson, Belinda Terrel; his brother, Raymond Bacon. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, great nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
