The Life and Legacy of Katherine Pace McMorris

Katherine (Kat) was the 19th child born to George and Ida Pace on August 12th in the year of 1922.

She often talked about how she worked hard to help her parents move from Tucker to Palestine.  Katherine strived to care for their parents and brother, (Mac), until they passed away.

There was a total of 21 children.  She was the 19th.  In her life, she endured the loss of her parents, George and Ida Pace and her nine brothers and five sisters, her husband, (Floyd L. McMorris, Sr.), a host of nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts, close and dear friends.

Yes, her run has been long, but she was blessed and happy.  "Her marriage produced four loving children;

Silas (Jean/Maddie), seven grandchildren, (Sonja, Sharon, Silas, Shannon, Selwyn, Sedwyn, and Letha)

Floyd Jr. (Carnette); three grandchildren, (Demitra, Steven and Kevin).

Kay (the late Clarke), two grandchildren, (Rhonda and Kathleen)

Larry (Michelle), six grandchildren, (Tia, Larry, Lee, Angie, DeSawn and Delvin)

Her extended children due to loss of her niece, (Johnnie Mae Edward), Linda Adams,Leonard Earl Adams and Robert Simpson.  Recently presided in death, Charles Hall, John Henry Hall and Lora Ann Simpson (all knew their aunt Rine as mama), extended grandson, Charles Brown (Chicago).

Katherine was the 19th child (which put her 2nd to the youngest of 21 brothers and sisters.  The only surviving sibling is her baby sister, Mrs. Clara Pace Ricks of San Antonio, Texas.
