Latasha Yashica Garrett was born on February 20, 1975 in Houston, Texas to John D. And Annie (Walker) Brooks. She was their third child.
Latasha was raised in Houston, Texas and attended Houston I.S.D.
She accepted Christ early in life and united with 5 th Ward Baptist Church.
Latasha married Marcel Garrett. This union was blessed with five children, three boys and two girls.
On October 14, 2017 in Houston, Texas, Latasha left this earth on the Wings of Angels. She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Brooks; grandmother, Alice Lee.
Those left to cherish sweet memories are: Husband, Marcel Garrett of Houston, Texas; sons, Jamari Garrett, Dionni Garrett and Johmal Garrett; daughters, Nyla Garrett and Nina Garrett all of Houston, Texas; father, John D. Brooks; grandfather, Joe Louis Lee; brother, Michael (Tonja) Neely; sister, Belinda "Cookie" of Riverside, Texas; one grandchild, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
