Linda Ann Sumuel was born on September 1, 1952, in Lake County, Florida, to Roscoe Buck Evans and Dora Lee Evans. She was raised in Tucker, Texas. Linda attended Green Bay School and later graduated from Westwood High School.

Linda was a faithful and devoted member of Green Bay A.M.E. Church throughout her life. On June 21, 1970, she married Rogers L. Sumuel, Jr., this union produced one son, Rogers Lee Sumuel III. She later in life met Bruce Crawford, this union produced two daughters, LaTonya Denise Foster and Angela Shanta Sumuel.

On May 7, 2026, in Palestine, Texas, Linda left this earth on the wings of angels. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Dora Evans; daughter, Angela Sumuel; granddaughter, Tangela Foster; brother, Anthony Foster; sisters, Celestine Ellison and Frankie Gilbert; nephew, Rodney Foster; and great‑nephew, Darren Stubblefield.

Linda leaves to cherish her memory her son, Rogers Lee Sumuel III; daughter, LaTonya (Elbert) Foster Mitchell; sisters, Martha Ann Thomas, Sheila Evans Brantley, Lizzie (Ramon) Martinez Alvarez, Doris Evans, and Joyce Cooper; grandchildren, Jacobee Newton and TaDoria Black; great‑grandchildren, Kobee and Kartell Newton; along with a host of loving family and friends who will miss her dearly.
