Marcus Delane Joplin was born on April 15, 1931 in Meadow, Texas to Harry Bell and Nona Grace (Pennington) Joplin. He was the elder of six children.
Marcus was raised in Lovington, New Mexico, but lived in Texas for 50 years.
Marcus married Judith Ruby Hazen, and this union was blessed with three children. He later married Billy Diane Joplin on September 3, 1969.
Marcus was a heavy equipment operator and a farmer.
On April 19, 2018 in Fairfield, Texas, Marcus's hard working hands were called to rest. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harry and Nona Joplin; Son: Donald Joplin; Grandson: Brian Sipes-Tanner; stepson Donny Paul Westbrook; Two Sisters: Vonda Ferrell and Wynell Bishop.
Marcus leaves to cherish his precious memories; Son: DeWayne (Penny) Joplin of Palestine, Texas; Two Daughters: Thelma (William) Sipes of Teague, Texas and Vonda Marie Lemmur of Tatum, Texas; Two Brothers: Bill (Marva) Joplin of Arizona and LaVoyd Joplin of New Mexico; Twelve grandchildren; Eighteen great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
