Mary Rhodes was born on September 3, 1946 in Crockett, Texas to Louis and Mozelle (Washington) McKnight. She was the third of 11 children.
She was raised in Crockett, Texas and attended school Ralph Bunche High School.
She accepted Christ early in life and united with Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Mary married Jim Rhodes on February 19, 1979. This union was blessed with four children.
She was retired.
On July 19, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital in the Woodlands, Texas, Mary left this earth on the Wings of Angels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mozell McKnight; Rodney McKnight; three sisters, Mary Davis, Quillar McKnight and Eva McKnight.
Those who remain behind to remember sweet memories are:
Husband, Jim Rhodes, Crockett, Texas; sons, Alton (Margaret) McKnight, Huntsville, Texas and Patrick Rhodes, Dallas, Texas; daughters, Stephanie Rhodes, Crockett, Texas and Sonya Barre, Houston, Texas; brothers, Viel McKnight, Crockett, Texas, Johnny (Barbara) McKnight, Crockett, Texas, Leon McKnight, Crockett, Texas, Marvin McKnight, Grapeland, Texas; sisters, Easter Mae Kennard, Agusta McKnight, Beverly (Moises) Moreno, Crockett, Texas; aunt, Maine McKnight, Crockett, Texas; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, special children, Jocelyn and Bryan Horn, Felicia McKnight and Keisha Stewart, other relatives and friends.
