Remembering the Life and Legacy of
Mother Mary Ann Williams Pelton

Mrs. Mary Ann Williams Pelton was born to the parentage of Joshua Williams, Sr. and Sallie Busby Williams on November 25, 1925 in Freestone County (Teague, Texas). She was the fourth of nine siblings.

Mary Ann attended and graduated from the Furney Richardson School District of Teague, Texas.

Mary Ann accepted Christ at an early age, (8 years old), and united with Asia Primitive Baptist Church, of the Furney Richardson Community. She remained a loyal and faithful member there until the church was merged with the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church of Teague, Texas, on October 13, 1998. She maintained her membership with the church faithfully until her death on June 28, 2015.

Mary Ann was united in Holy matrimony to Johnnie Pelton on May 12, 1946. This union was blessed with five children. They were married 66 years, 11 months and 9 days, until Johnnie preceded her in death on April 21, 2013.

Mary Ann was a home-maker, a devoted wife and mother who nurtured and maintained her family! She served her family and community in a variety of ways. She served in various church ministries and out-reaches. She worked in the Sunday School, Food Service Endeavors, Usher's Union, United Missions, Nursing Home Ministries, "Sick and Shut-in" Ministry; gardening for the community; PTA and any other place where her services and help were needed. She was devoted to her family, church, community and friends! She was a lover of God and His people. She was a generous and kind soul.

Mary Ann departed this "earth-walk" on June 28, 2015 at 9:12 A.M. "absent from the body; present with the Lord!" (2 Corinthians 5:6-8). She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, and husband, Johnnie.
