REMEMBERING THE LIFE OF MATTIE LOUISE MOORE

Mattie Louise Murphy was born December 3, 1941 to Mary Odom and Jeff Odom in Palestine, Texas. She was the last of three children. Eddie Simpson and Maudie Odom.


She attended Banks Elementary and A.M. Story schools in Palestine, Texas.


Mattie accepted Christ at an early age, where she joined South Union Baptist Church. Mattie was very active at the church, serving as Sunday School Superintendent, Director over the kitchen, active in many other areas. Mattie loved God with all her heart. She loved working at the church, cooking for the church, anything with the church.


In October 2001, she married Mr. Johnny Moore, the love of her life, they resided in Palestine, Texas.


Mattie departed this life on January 24, 2014.


She leaves a devoted husband, Johnny Moore; brother-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends to cherish her memories.
