On October 25, 1922 in Waco, Texas, Dan Rigsby and Maranda Green became the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl who they named Maurine. She was the youngest of three children.

Maurine was raised in Nacogdoches and Jasper, Texas.  She received her education in the Nacogdoches School System.

She accepted Christ early in life and joined New Jerusalem Primitive Baptist Church. Later she united with Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.

Maurine married Arthur Jones.

On July 27, 2017 in Baytown, Texas, Maurine left this earth on the Wings of Angels.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan Rigsby and Maranda (Ed) Maddox; husband, Arthur Jones; brother, Daniel Rigsby; two sisters, Vinnie Donnell and Laura K. Donnell; nephew, Joe Freddie Donnell; two nieces, Georgia Mae Davis and Vivian Gray.

Loving survivors include: son, Derrick (Jeanette) Gray of Houston, Texas; nieces, Joyce (Joe) Britton of Houston, Texas, Jackie Donnell of Palestine, Texas and Mary (James) Taylor of Palestine, Texas; nephew, Charles Donnell of Palestine, Texas; three sisters, Evie Lee Siggers, Idella Bay and L.V. Rasberry all of Jasper, Texas; four grandchildren, Grittney Gray, Kyle Gray, Christopher Gray and Chenelle Gray, all of Houston, Texas; four great grandchildren, Christian, Jordan, Irianna and Chase, a host of other relatives and friends.
