Melvin Bernard Harmon was born on February 20, 1970 in Athens, Texas to Earnest and Zerdine (Nickerson) Jenkins. He was the second of two children.

He was raised in Malakoff, Texas and attended Malakoff Schools.

Melvin accepted Christ early in life and united with Antioch Baptist Church in Malakoff, Texas.

He worked at the Brick Yard and also on Mobile Homes.

Melvin passed away on January 7, 2017 in Tyler, Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother, Zerdine Marie Nickerson; grandparents, Melissa and Emzy Nickerson and Willie and Dorothy Jenkins.

Those left behind to cherish sweet memories: two sons, Kevin Harmon of Corsicana, Texas and Kendrick Harmon of Port Arthur, Texas; two daughters, Destiny Harmon and Desiree Harmon of Rockwall, Texas; father, Earnest Jenkins of Trinidad, Texas and Mack Cell Harmon, Sr. of Autagville, Alabama; grandmother, Ollie Harmon of Coffee City, Texas; brothers, Mack Harmon of Montgomery, Alabama, Corey Harmon (Anessa) of Trinidad, Texas, Gerald Williams (Velika) of Garland, Texas, Quincy Jenkins (Ashley) of Medlothion, Texas, Desmond Jenkins of Dallas, Texas and Ahmad Jenkins of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Bridgett Harmon of Montgomery, Alabama, Kimberly Jenkins and Jackie Carr (Rodney) of Malakoff, Texas and Lashundra Brown of New Orleans, Louisiana. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
