Neka Mechelle Hunt was born on January 9, 1978 in Lufkin, Texas, to the proud parents of Jay Lee and Norma Jean (Satterwhite) Hunt.
Neka grew up in Houston, Texas and attended Worthing High School and Houston I.S.D.
She accepted Christ early in life and attended Greater St. Matthews, in Houston, Texas.
Neka met and married Kennard Duplessis in Holy Matrimony.
Neka worked at Luby's and In Hospitality.
Neka left this earth on the Wings of Angels September 13, 2014 in Spring, Texas. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Hattie Bell Satterwhite; grandfather, A.J. Hunt, Sr.; Two aunts, Charlotte Tanner and Brenda Jordan.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Kennard Duplessis; son, David Lee Weatherall, Spring, Texas; daughter, Davia Jean Duplessis, Spring, Texas; parents, Norma Jean Satterwhite-Hunt and Jay Lee Hunt, Spring, Texas; two sisters, Meka Nichelle Hunt, Spring, Texas, Hattie Lachelle (Jacob) George, Houston, Texas; three aunts, Arie Cooper, Lufkin, Texas, Yvonne Simmons, Houston, Texas and Patricia (Leon) Gibson, Crockett, Texas; uncle, A.J. Hunt, Jr., Lufkin, Texas. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
