Odess Lee Love was born on July 14, 1950 in Crockett, Texas, to parents Reed Alfred and Ethel Lee Balon Love. She was their fourth child.

Odess was raised in Houston, Texas and attended school at Houston Independent District. She graduated from Jack Yates High School in 1968.

She accepted Christ early in life and joined Olive Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, later she joined Pine Grove Baptist Church, she relocated to Houston and joined Providence Missionary Baptist Church until her death.

Odess passed away on March 1, 2015 in Houston, Texas, she was preceded in death by her father, Reed Love; sisters, Mary Spence, Reversa McMillian; brother, Willie Love.

Loving survivors include two daughters, Charmine Love Williams, Houston, Texas, Eboni Love, Crockett, Texas; mother, Ethel Lee Love, Crockett, Texas; brothers, Melvin Love, Tommy Love and Frank Love, all of Crockett, Texas, Jerry Love of Houston, Reed McMillian and Dennis McMillian of Houston, Texas; sisters, Juanita Watson, Doris Love, both of Crockett, Texas, Bettie Smotherman, Kennard, Texas, Rita McMillian, Edith McMillian, both of Houston, Texas and Charlotte Collisn of Las Vegas Nevada; two grandchildren, Keithlynn, Williams and Kendell Williams; one great grandchild, Kaman Williams, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
