Patsy Ruth (Bean) Washington was born December 28, 1937 and was the youngest of fourteen children born to Jim Bean and Willie Parks Bean. At an early age Patsy accepted Christ and continued to rely on Him throughout her adult years.
Patsy was a graduate of Ralph Bunch High School. Upon graduation, she relocated to Houston, Texas and married. Later in life, she meet Thurman King and they became the proud parents of a daughter, Gayle King-Winfrey.
Patsy or "Auntie," as she was affectionately called by many of her nieces and nephews was known for her high spirited attitude. She had a sass about her that exuded love, but could easily reprimand you when needed. Some of her fondest memories were the stories she told about the antics of her and her brother Charles ("Penny")
Patsy's favorite past time were reading the Bible, doing word search puzzles, watching Westerns and drinking Dr. Pepper.
Patsy transitioned from this earthly life to one of eternal rest on April 12, 2018 in Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and five sisters.
Those left to cherish her memories are: Her Loving and Devoted daughter, Gayle (Greg) King-Winfrey of Austin, Texas; Two Grandsons: (who were the light of her life): Daniel Woodlief and Greginald Winfrey; One Sister: Burnette Watson Gales of Lovelady, Texas; Her protégé/niece: Ruth "Bonnie" Jones of Houston, Texas and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
