Obituary

Pearl W. Bryant was born on September 21, 1945 in Littlefield, Texas to Otis Foster and Arenetta Moore Foster. She was their third child and first daughter.

Pearl was raised in and attended schools in Clovis New Mexico alongside her 2 older and 2 younger brothers as well as her 2 younger sisters.  Although she was third in the order of her siblings, from a very young age she took on the role of being a 'third parent' to all of her siblings; even the older ones.  Later in life, being a surrogate mother to others became a constant theme.

Pearl accepted Christ early in life. Her grandfather, Reverend J.P. Moore, was a pastor of First Baptist Church in Clovis, New Mexico. Pearl also attended Bethlehem Baptist Church, pastored by the deceased Revered R.L. Smith.  She also attended First Church of God in Christ, pastored by the deceased Bishop W.C. Green.  Bishop Greene moved from east Texas to Clovis in the 1950's to apprentice with Pearl's grandfather.

Pearl worked in many fields including the medical field where she attended to the needs of children and adults with special needs.  Her heart was always to help those less fortunate.  Pearl retired early due to health challenges.

Pearl went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2023 in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her best friend and soulmate, Fred Dale, parents, Otis and Arenetta Foster; brothers, Billy Lewis, Eugene Foster, Hayward Foster and Jerry Foster; sister, Wilma Kay Foster.

Loving survivors: daughters, Annette Halsey-Williams, Austin, Texas, Renee Bryant, Irving, Texas, Cindy Bryant, Frisco, Texas, Tomeka Franklin (Glenn), Virginia Beach, Virginia; sister, Jean "Cookie" Robinson (Charles), Hewitt, Texas; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.  In addition to raising her own 4 daughters, Pearl often cared for the children of other family members.  She was a mother figure to many and loved by all.
