Pearl Boatwright Kalmes was born on March 2, 1934 in Eagle Lake, Texas to Ben and Ella Louis (Karacek) Boatwright.  She was the eighth of 12 children.

She was raised in Wharton, Texas and attended Wharton Public School.

Pearl married Robert Kalmes; he died in July of 2016.

Pearl passed away on November 9, 2017 in Tucker, Texas.  She was preceded in death by her parentts, Ben & Ella Boatwright; husband, Robert Kalmes; siblings, Charles Henry Boatwright, Nora Louise Kelley, Marie Russell, Ben Boatwright, Bernadine Miles, Vernon David Boatright, Twin-James Boatwright and two in infancy.

Survivors: son, Richarl Gail; daughters, Brenda Gail Haley and Martie Gail; brother, Clarence Lee Boatwright of Event, Texas; sister, Martha Dean Blain of Winter Harbor, Maine. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends .
