The Life of Robert E. Davis

Robert was born July 13, 1937 to Jesse Davis and Fannie Smith Davis. He was the eighth of nine children (four brothers: Cullen, Clarence, Jesse Jr., Ervin and 4 sisters: Ruby Crenshaw, Cloteal Goff, Pinkie Manning and Elmira Vernon).

He graduated from Butler High School. Robert entered the service in March 1965 and received an honorable discharge from the Army of the United States on 28th day of February 1969. Afterwards, Robert went to barber school and worked with his brother Ervin cutting hair. Later, he became a truck driver, he continued driving trucks until he retired in January 2014.

Robert married Victoria Alby on December 2, 1978. They were members of Carter Metropolitan C.M.E. Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Robert was a quiet man who loved restoring old cars, watching sports (San Antonio Spurs) and bowling.

On Friday, August 11, 2017 in the comfort of his home with family and friends, he was released from all pain, suffering and daily worries.

He leaves with cherished memories a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
