REMEMBERING THE LIFE OF ROBERT RAY LEWIS

Robert Ray Lewis was born on October 16, 1951 in Oakwood, Texas, to the parents of Herbert and Mardella (Gilford) Lewis. Robert was the last child born of seven children.

Robert was raised in Oakwood, Texas. He attended school at Oakwood I.S.D and later attended Navarro Jr. College and Sam Houston State University.

He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Andrew Chapel.

Robert married Cathy Faye Durham on December 3, 1979. This union was blessed with two sons.

Robert was a Commercial Truck Driver.

On January 27, 2014 in Houston, Texas, Robert left his earthly body to go be with his Heavenly Father.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mardella Lewis; maternal grandparents, Vander and Elizabeth Gilford; paternal grandparents, Tom and Hattie Lewis.

Those left behind to remember and cherish sweet memories are:
Loving wife, Cathy Faye Lewis; two sons, Curtis Durham Lewis and Shelton Lewis, both of Houston, Texas; granddaughter, Miss Hannah; four brothers, Joe Mack (Joyce) Lewis, Dallas, Texas, Fred (Donna) Lewis, Houston, Texas, James Lewis, Oakwood, Texas and Herbert (Sherrie) Lewis, Goodrich, Texas; three sisters, Esther Mae Ransom, Bryan, Texas, Rogene Oliver, Oakwood, Texas, Myrtle Clewis, Dallas, Texas. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
