Precious Memories of Ms. Rufus Lee Turner

Ms. Rufus Lee Turner was born January 24, 1936 in Oakwood, Texas to Napoleon and Leola Alford Turner. She was the first of five children.

She was raised in Bethel and attended Butler High School in Oakwood, Texas.

She accepted Christ as a child and attended Waymon Chapel AME Chuch, later, St. Paul AME Church in Dallas, where she served on the Stewardess Board for many years, before moving back to Oakwood and Reunited with Waymon Chapel AME Church.

Ms. Rufus Lee worked St. Paul Hospital.

On February 9, 2017 in Oakwood, Texas, Rufus Lee left this earth on the Wings of Angels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Napoleon and Leola Turner; grandparents, Clem and Vesser Solomon Alford, Ervin and Ruth Burns Turner; brothers, Clem Turner and Johnny Dean Turner; nephew, Ralph Dennis Turner.

She will always be missed by her two sisters, Mable Gaston and Bettie Turner, both of Oakwood, Texas; aunt, Frankie Alford, Oakwood, Texas; one niece, Alesha Nicole Turner, Dallas, Texas; three great nieces; two great nephews and two great great nieces. A host of other family and friends.
