I was born on January 14, 1973 in Dallas, TX to the parentage of Joseph J. McKnight, Jr. and D'Juana Session McKnight. I was raised in Quitman, Texas.
I received my formal education in the Quitman Public School System and after graduation I moved back to Dallas, TX to pursue a career at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company advancing to a Operational Manager. Years later, I moved back to Quitman, TX and started a professional career at Suddenlink being part of The Technical Support Team and moved on to East Texas Medical Center (ETMC Tyler) specializing in Insurance Verification where my health began to fail and not allow me to no longer work in that capacity.
Cooking was no stranger to me, which I learned from my mother and I started my own Catering Business, "Suga Coated Treats & Events" creating unique wedding cakes, birthday cakes, cupcakes, dipped strawberries, dipped apples, pies, and also catered lunches, dinners, parties with gourmet menus.
I worked very hard, even though painful, in days I continued to provide meals for my hard, working, loving husband that provided for me & our son, Ryan. I enjoyed cooking and providing joy to others by way of "Suga Coasted Treats & Events." No matter what pain & discomfort I endured… God was with me.
I leave my love and many beautiful memories to my loving, devoted, supportive husband, Clintric "Cortez" Kennedy, my loving mother, D'Juana McKnight, my children, Langston Pace, Ryan McKnight, Chyonti Kennedy, Dontez Kennedy, my supportive brother, Christopher McKnight, sister-in-law, Crystal, my maternal grandparents, Earl & Lavinia Lee, my paternal grandmother, Ruby Nell McKnight, my uncles, John Jones, Willie Jones & Ricky Jones, my loving, caring & supportive aunt, Sondra Davis who has held my hand the past 2 years of my illness, as I took my last breath and still supporting my husband, mother and my children. My "special 1st cousin" Steve McKnight aka "Steve Nice" K-104 for your love, support & last visit, my 1st cousin, Ricky Perry-Dunn for your love & last visits.
I was preceded in death by: my father, Joseph J. McKnight, Jr., my paternal grandfather, Joseph J. McKnight, Sr., my paternal grandmother, Corine Borden.
